1. Personal Statement

I am an enthusiastic and determined individual with a positive interest in computing, project management and business. My decision to retrain and take on a degree in Information Systems and Computing was not one I took lightly. I choose this root as it encompassed three areas of personal interest as stated above. Throughout my degree I have enjoyed studying various technical subjects such as data structures, systems development and database design which have enabled me to expand my technical know how. During this time I have also had the opportunity to explore other fields such as software project management, business and its relationship to technology. Through my past experiences I have been involved in the finance industry and the hospitality which has equipped me with extensive people, administrative, financial and management skills which I intend to utilise in combination with the knowledge and technical know how acquired at Oxford Brookes and on placement within the Network support team at Janssen-Cilag.  I am now keen to take on the role as a Business Analyst as I feel it matches well with my skill set. I am convinced that I would excel in this role analysing business needs and thus implementing and developing relevant systems using sound judgement based on a solid understanding of I.T. While working as a Business Analyst I am keen to take on further study most likely in project management (gaining Prince2 accreditation) or business analysis. My long term ambition is to set up a project management consultancy with a first class reputation for meeting deadlines and providing excellent support.
